Review and Swatches: Sleek 'Matte Me' Ultra Smooth Lip Cream

Today's Blog post is going to be about all about the 'Matte Me' Lipsticks, with a lip swatch of each colour. Each tube contains 6ml/0.21fl.oz, and is not tested on animals. These Lipsticks dry within a minute of application and once they've dried they don't budge. I picked up 6 shades, they're a mixture of the 2 collections that were released.

'Petal 435'

Petal is a pale pink colour, its from the first collection that was released. It applies very smoothly and dries very fast. Before applying these matte lipsticks preparation is necessary if you have dry lips. Exfoliating them is perfect to get rid of all the dry skin because if you don't do this it will show badly once you apply the lipstick.

'Birthday Suit 436'

This shade is also from the first collection that was released, so the wand in these is slightly different to the newer ones. Birthday Suit is the ideal nude with a bit of a pink undertone, it is perfect to wear on daily basis.

'Bittersweet 1036'

This shade and the rest of them are from the new collection. Originally when I swatched this on my hand I hated the shade and thought it wouldn't suit me at all, but after applying it on my lips I was extremely happy with the way it turned out.

The lipsticks from the second collection have a different wand, it's slightly angled whereas the original one is straight. Also the consistency is slightly different, these newer ones are a bit more tricky to remove.

'Shabby Chic 1037'

This shade is my personal favourite. It has a slight purple undertone, and is not too dark. When you've applied these lipsticks you'd want to watch out for oily foods and hot drinks, the lipstick starts breaking and falling away, and re-application isn't the best idea especially with the darker shades because they become clumpy and patchy and feel uncomfortable and dry on your lips.

'Velvet Slipper 1039'

I love this shade so much, it's really good for a more dramatic look. It's like this dark purpuly colour. I think it would suit every skin tone.

'Vino Tinto 1041'

This shade is lovely, bright reds don't suit me at all I usually go for darker reds so I thought this shade would be perfect and it is but with slight problems. It gets a bit patchy as you can see in the photo, I don't know if its to do with the consistency or how I applied it. Although it's not too bad when you're not looking at it up closely the shade really suits my skin tone and even though it gets patchy I still love it.

So that's all the shades swatched and reviewed! They're definitely worth getting and they only cost €6.99, you can buy these from sleek.com or if you live in Ireland boots.ie they currently have a sale on them2 for €11 so go grab them while you can!

I hope you found this post helpful and thanks for taking the time to read it. Keep an eye out for more posts soon!

Review: Sleek 'Solstice' Highlighting Palette

12:05:00 Endlessly Exploring 0 Comments

With summer just around the corner and great weather approaching it is important to get that glowy looking skin and tan. So highlighting is key to achieving that look. This is one of the products I recently picked up at a drug store, The packaging was so pretty I just couldn't resist.

Inside the palette there's four colours; Ecliptic, which is a cream, Hemispehere, Subsolar and Equinox which are powders. The bad thing about this is that you've to be careful so the fallout from your powders doesn't mix with you cream shade.

You can mix and match all the colours and play around with them, Equinox is so nice on top of ecliptic.I personally fell in love with how Hemispehere looks with my skin tone, although I was hesitant at first and thought I'd never use that lilac colour. A little does you a long way with these highlighters and they're so long lasting too when your makeup is set. The box is so small you could throw it in your purse or makeup bag and bring it with you anywhere, especially since it comes with a mirror too

The cost of this is €14.49 which is a good price in my opinion for the four shades that you get if you live in Ireland you can buy this in Boots. It's definitely affordable and definitely worth it!

Smokey Copper Eye Makeup

12:21:00 Endlessly Exploring 0 Comments

I wanted to do a smokey eye with a touch of some shimmer, so I created this eye look. If you wish to recreate it then here's the list of products, steps and tips;-

PRODUCTS:

Sleek Makeup i-Divine Palette- All Night Long 429-     €10.49
i-Envy Eyelashes- Diva 01-                                            €3.50
Rimmel Extreme Black Volume Mascara-                       €7.99

STEPS:

1. Firstly I applied a base colour to help blend everything easier without sticking to the foundation and concealer base. The colour I used from the palette was 'Mai Tai' its a nude pinky colour.

2. As my transition colour I used 'Negroni' a matte brown colour, I applied this in my crease blending it upwards towards my eyebrow, I did this until I was satisfied with how blended it was, I also applied this colour on the inner 1/3 and the outer 1/3 of my eye.

3. For the middle of my eye I used the colour 'Manhattan' and applied it with a wet brush to make the colour more intense.

4. Before applying the fake eyelashes I coated my own eyelashes with a thin layer of mascara, I like to do this before the falsies rather than after this way I'm not coating the Falsies in mascara and can reuse them a few more times after that instead of throwing them out.

And that's the complete eye look! Total cost of products= €21.98

I hope you enjoyed reading this, and if you did please leave a comment below letting me know what you think!
